The first half was fun and intriguing and read it very quickly。 The last halfish was boring to the point that I have like 2 chapters left and I can't bring myself to finish it。 I don't care enough about the characters and story is bland - no arc。 The first book in this series was excellent and it's a shame that the second missed the mark。 The first half was fun and intriguing and read it very quickly。 The last halfish was boring to the point that I have like 2 chapters left and I can't bring myself to finish it。 I don't care enough about the characters and story is bland - no arc。 The first book in this series was excellent and it's a shame that the second missed the mark。 。。。more

4。5 stars。I'm SO impressed with this book as well as the series so far。 It's rare you see a self published author write a book this cohesive and well written。 (I realize this series is getting traditionally published soon)。The world building was impressive。 Each new location we travelled too was distinct and added to the world as a whole。 The side characters all had enough time to shine without taking away from the two main characters。I would have liked to see more of Vincent's memories。 It woul 4。5 stars。I'm SO impressed with this book as well as the series so far。 It's rare you see a self published author write a book this cohesive and well written。 (I realize this series is getting traditionally published soon)。The world building was impressive。 Each new location we travelled too was distinct and added to the world as a whole。 The side characters all had enough time to shine without taking away from the two main characters。I would have liked to see more of Vincent's memories。 It would have made the god blood plot make more sense。 。。。more

I was disappointed in the beginning because I thought there was no coming back from what raihn did… I’m so glad oraya and raihn fell back in love。 The bloodsharing 🤌🏻🤌🏻I found myself more and more invested as I kept reading

Mckenna Baron

“What’s that face for?” BOREDOM。

⭐️ 4。25/5。 dragged on a little more than the first book but still came together wonderfully。 this universe is so beautifully crafted and i can’t wait for the rest of the books, even though i’ll miss following oraya and raihn

WOW。 How was this even better than the first book? I honestly loved everything about it: how complex the relationship got between Rhain and Oraya, how brutal the world was, how Oraya struggled to come to terms with what happened at the end to book 1…The romance gave me the best sort of flutters, the character development was done so well。 Basically, I has such a great time reading this book and I can’t wait to see what the author has to offer in this world!

ish

brought back real sexy vampires

3。5*** starsWeeeell, this second part of the duet fell rather flat for me compared to the first。 I struggled to even finish it。 It dragged hard in some parts and I, sadly, wasn’t nearly as riveted by the storyline。side note for the audio: IT REALLY PAINS ME to say but I think Aiden Snow (as much as I looove listening to him) was not a good fit for Raihn。 I honestly liked Amanda Leigh Cobb’s impression of him in Oraya’s POV much more。I wasn’t interested before but now that I’ve seen glimpses of V 3。5*** starsWeeeell, this second part of the duet fell rather flat for me compared to the first。 I struggled to even finish it。 It dragged hard in some parts and I, sadly, wasn’t nearly as riveted by the storyline。side note for the audio: IT REALLY PAINS ME to say but I think Aiden Snow (as much as I looove listening to him) was not a good fit for Raihn。 I honestly liked Amanda Leigh Cobb’s impression of him in Oraya’s POV much more。I wasn’t interested before but now that I’ve seen glimpses of Vale and Lilith I’m looking forward to the “Six Scorched Roses” novella coming to audio in a few weeks。*************Crowns of Nyaxia SeriesBook 1 - The Serpent and the Wings of Night - 4。75 starsBook 2 - The Ashes and the Star-Cursed King - 3。5 starsaccompanying novellas (different main characters)Six Scorched Roses - wait for audioSlaying the Vampire Conqueror - wait for audio 。。。more

Becoming head of houses, king and queen Rahin and Oraya。 Both figuring out how they are going to do this。 Not trusting anyone from their house。 A war coming can they deal with what's to come?I loved this one more than i did the first one。 There were plenty of emotions in this one。 Oraya is not happy with what rahin did to her。 This book is a bit of a rollercoaster。 Oraya hates rahin to begin with but has things unravel thing change。 Rahin is doing everything he can protect her from everything。 K Becoming head of houses, king and queen Rahin and Oraya。 Both figuring out how they are going to do this。 Not trusting anyone from their house。 A war coming can they deal with what's to come?I loved this one more than i did the first one。 There were plenty of emotions in this one。 Oraya is not happy with what rahin did to her。 This book is a bit of a rollercoaster。 Oraya hates rahin to begin with but has things unravel thing change。 Rahin is doing everything he can protect her from everything。 Keeping enemies at bay from her。 An till that one night she protects a saves him。 I loved they way this whole series has been written。 I think it has great world build, slow burns, vampires, humans, and war。 Lies and truth all mixed up。 There's even some spice 🌶。 Great mix and written to keep you wanting to know more。 If you've not read the do run to read。 。。。more

I was not as interested in this book after the “will they, won’t they…” was over (why does this draw me in? I don’t know。 I like trashy subplots) but really enjoyed the way it ended with the romance tied into a cute bow but other aspects of the story still up in the air so you weren’t 100% of the characters’ futures。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 Vincent deserved so much better! How can someone be the best character when he is no longer in the story? This book has so much angst and spice。 I love it

Carissa Broadbent did it again! This is such a well written story for Oraya, and of course Raihn。 The world building is immaculate, giving you enough to picture everything, without overloading you and making you lost。 The characters are so easy to love, love and hate at the same time, or just love to hate! I really felt like I was there, alongside the characters and I wish I could read it again for the first time。 This will definitely become a comfort read for me!

Nothing against this book I just waited too long to read it and I was not that into it😩😩 I give it a 3。5

Me tomo 2 meses terminarlo, sinceramente no fue mi favorito, no conecté para nada y no se si fue por mi bloqueo lector o lo lento que se me hizo

I LOVED the first book but the sequel fell short for me。 It was good but took me forever to get through because the first 30% or so dragged terribly IMO。 Also, I am WAY more invested in the relationship Oraya has with her father Vincent than I am with her and Raihn。 That was the most interesting and emotional part of this book by far。 Would’ve loved to see more of that。

By the fourth time Raihn said "There she is", I was satisfied。 By the 20th, I was just pissed。 By the fourth time Raihn said "There she is", I was satisfied。 By the 20th, I was just pissed。 。。。more

LAME it might just be me, but if the first book contains awesome challenges as the draw and then doesn't even remotely have something similar in the sequel always bores me。 Like, man, and then they don't really resolve any of the issues from the first book (emotional issues, not plot issues), they just dust it all under the rug so if you want a great emotional payout, better rethink this one。 LAME it might just be me, but if the first book contains awesome challenges as the draw and then doesn't even remotely have something similar in the sequel always bores me。 Like, man, and then they don't really resolve any of the issues from the first book (emotional issues, not plot issues), they just dust it all under the rug so if you want a great emotional payout, better rethink this one。 。。。more

Hi! My name is Ali and I'm an addict。。。My addiction is Vincent, King of the Nightborn。 🥵Listen, this book has everything a romantasy reader dreams of。 Great worldbuilding, political intrigue, an amazing love story (with a lot of grovelling from Raihn, because after that ending in The Serpent And The Wings Of Night, he just has to), delicious 🌶️, buuuuut more importantly for me, this book still has a lot of Vincent in it。 Yaaaay!!! Now, I know that this man is a walking red flag, but I just can't help loving him, so, I'll just gather those red flags in a bouquet。 And although I am grateful for everything I found out about him in this book, I'm still hoping that Carissa Broadbent will write a novella for him the same as she did for Vale in Six Scorched Roses, because I don't know what I'm supposed to do with myself if the next book focuses on Mishe and there will be no more Vincent。 🙈 Oh, and by the way, Vale is absolutely to die for (even literally 🤭)。 If you haven't read the novella yet, what are you waiting for?! Go on, you'll love it! 。。。more

Took a couple hundred pages to get into this。 Pretty different feel from the first。 I had trouble distinguishing which voice I was reading with chapter changes, they seemed to be written similarly。 Would have liked more time with the rest of the characters but looking forward to the rest of the books。 I did enjoy the main characters an the mysteries。

4。5⭐️ I loved this duology and it was the perfect ending to Oraya’s and Raihn’s story。 I loved Vincent’s character in the first book so it was so nice to find out more backstory about him。 This was a great book but I definitely preferred the first book!

Will read anything Carissa Broadbent writes at this point!
